We Made It

Yesterday we took off for Phoenix and made it here on time with no problems. The worst part was the Phoenix airport ~ the worst I've ever been in, including Bombay. There's I don't know how many flights landing at once, then the signs above the luggage carousels aren't updated so you don't know where to look for your bags. Luckily we paid attention to the annoucements; otherwise, we wouldn't have known that our luggage was being off-loaded onto TWO carouels! After that, getting our rental van was another hassle because you have to take a shuttle bus to pick your vehicle up. Two hours after landing, we finally left the airport for Scottsdale. Our condo is really nice ~ two floors with the bedrooms upstairs and the kitchen and living area downstairs. My parents have the master bedroom with an ensuite, there's another full bath up, then a half bath down. The weather's about 24 and gorgeous. Today Ryan golfed with my mom's cousin's husband, my mom went shopping with her cousin, and Dad, Dave, Lana and I went to this mall which was really neat because it had an open-air courtyard in the middle and all the stores were along the outer edges. It was quite upscale and the people shopping were very fashionable. Dave and Dad got shirts at Banana, and Lana and I decided to wait to spend our money until after Christmas when the sales are on. When we got home Dad and I went for a walk, then Mom and Ryan eventually made their way home. I don't know what tonight holds, but tomorrow we're going to see Auntie Lindsey and Aldo. Talk to you later!

Sounds like the weather is a nice treat. It's just damp & rainy here...

Merry Christmas Lisa and Ryan (and Shirley, Larry, Lana, Dave)! Thanks for the wedding picture - it is beautiful. A worse airport than in India...that's saying alot!

We had issues at that airport, too. Les' luggage was a day & a half late arriving and the staff at the Northwest counter was not at helpful...Sounds like the weather is beautiful there...If you're looking for shopping, The Outlets at Anthem is a bit of a drive (about 40 min north toward Flagstaff) but has lots of brand name outlet stores, closer is Kierland Commons - a cool upscale retail area (and there's Victoria's Secret there, too!) or the Paradise Valley mall. Have fun and soak up some sun for me!
