This isn't a very exciting post, but the painter came today and the first coat of paint is on in the basement! Tomorrow he'll be done. I was going to take some pictures but how fun is it to watch paint dry?! Next up, carpet and ceramic tile in five more weeks because we do live in Red Deer so that means six to eight weeks to get any trades into your home, if you can get them to come at all. Thankfully, Ryan's quite handy so the only trades we've had to hire are the mudder/taper for the drywall, the primer/stipler for the drywall and ceiling, and now the painter and then the flooring, and that should be it. Not that we couldn't do the painting, mind you, but this guy's getting it done in two days. Ah, the joys of finishing your basement, a labour of love!
