For the Canada Day long weekend, Ryan and I decided to head to the Rockies. It's not usual that Ryan is on days off for long weekends, and since he was off for Canada Day, we decided to make a road trip of it. On Saturday morning, we headed to Canmore where we just missed their Canada Day parade, but we did have a lovely walk around downtown Canmore and came upon this splendid pub that had a wonderful patio and a live band. We ate lunch there, then we headed to our hotel, checked in, Ryan went swimming, then we headed out for supper. After supper we went to Dairy Queen then took our blizzards to the park where Canmore was hosting its Canada Day fireworks display. For a small town, Canmore sure put on a fabulous fireworks show lasting about 15 minutes. The next morning, we headed for the Columbia Icefield and Jasper.
